    What is The HoloSIM Historical Module?

    The HoloSIM Historical Module is a self-contained HoloSIM module pioneered by the Sirius Corporation for use with existing HoloSIM compatible systems, based loosely upon HoloSIM's predecessor, Dream Ware. Intended for use in exploring historical events for educational, experiential, and recreational purposes, HoloSIM History provides participants with the opportunity to revisit past events using the HoloSIM interface. Realism is delivered to the participants through tactile feedback carefully integrated with the participant's nervous system, and emotions through manipulated brain activity. For all intents and purposes, the participants become their selected 'characters' within the historical event, and the realization of being a mere character in a story does not become fully realized until after the simulation has ended and the participant wakes up with their newly discovered memories of participating in a HoloSIM.

    Historical Accuracy of HoloSIM Materials and Simulations

    While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of HoloSIM Certified History Simulations, not every event can be recollected with perfect clarity, and is bound by a variety of limitations including but not limited to: bias on the part of both the observers and the writers when reporting the event, difficulty in securing historical material in regards to the event, and experiences beyond the realm of common human understanding such as severe mental distress or death.

    In addition, the HoloSIM scripting language is an open standard. It is quite easy, and intended, for HoloSIM enthusiasts to build their own HoloSIM simulations based on their own lifetime experiences or to create fictional scenarios for recreational purposes. These custom HoloSIM simulations by nature may not be historically accurate and lack the full and complete depth that a HoloSIM Certified simulation would normally provide.     The EDRPG adventures are not intended to conflict with or overwrite Elite Dangerous canonicity. Since the game is by nature an open one, and DMs have free reign to run whatever adventures they like in whatever environments they like, it is assumed that every adventure is non-canon except where reasonable (head-canon for individual players, story-canon for writers who want to incorporate less consequential events into their own lore, etc). It is advised that DMs avoid any heavily conflicting storylines or plotpoints with their adventures (killing Zachary Hudson for example) and if running an adventure to represent an actual event, to note that it is not necessarily an accurate account.

    Finding HoloSIM Participants

    While HoloSIM simulations can be enjoyed alone, it is often the desire of participants to engage in the enjoyment of a HoloSIM simulation as a form of entertainment with colleagues or associates, as a social experience. For this reason, HoloSIM includes Sirius Simultaneous Simulation technology (or HoloSSS) to coordinate the events and experiences between a number of participants within the HoloSIM environment. There is no known technical limit to the number of users sharing the same simulation, though no official simulation has ever exceeded a hundred participants1.

    1Sirius Corporation utilized a HoloSIM prototype as one of its many methods of investigating the Highliner Antares Disaster. While it did not provide much valuable data regarding the loss of the ship itself, it provided valuable data in regards to the mental distress experienced by its passengers, allowing Sirius to better refine the HoloSIM experience in later versions. The Highliner Antares Disaster simulation is not available for purchase at this time.
